Reeplayer Camera Setup and Safety Instructions
Version 1.0, effective 2026-11-06
These instructions are for the Reeplayer Camera and the stand that holds it. They are the setup, care, power, and safety instructions that the Reeplayer Camera One-Year Limited Warranty (https://www.reeplayer.com/legal/camera-warranty) and Section 4.4 of the Reeplayer Terms of Service refer to. Under Sections 2.3 and 4.4 of the Terms, the responsible adult for the camera is responsible for the setup and its safety, for themselves and for other people and property. Read these instructions before your first game and follow them every time.
1. Safety first
1.1 A raised camera on a tall stand can fall and hurt someone. Every time you set up, make sure the stand is stable, weighted, and placed away from people, as Sections 2 and 3 describe.
1.2 Keep the stand and its legs out of the field of play, out of walkways and paths, and away from spectators, benches, and areas where players warm up or run off the field.
1.3 Do not let anyone climb, hang on, or play around the stand. Do not leave a raised stand unattended where people can reach it, except when lightning is already nearby and Section 1.5 tells you to go to shelter.
1.4 Keep the stand well away from overhead power lines, and never raise or lower it near them.
1.5 If a storm with lightning is coming, lower the stand and take it down before the storm arrives. If there is already lightning nearby, do not touch the stand. Leave it, keep everyone away from it, and go to shelter until the storm has passed.
1.6 If the stand is hit, moves, or leans, lower it and set it up again before anyone stands near it.
2. The stand
2.1 Use the Reeplayer Tripod with its tripod mount, or a stand of similar height and strength with a compatible mount.
2.2 We recommend a stand height of 12 to 15 feet (about 3.7 to 4.6 meters). A stand taller than 15 feet is not needed for most fields and is harder to keep stable.
2.3 Before you raise the stand, attach the camera to the mount until you hear it click, and check that both the grey lever and the golden lever on the mount are locked.
2.4 Spread the legs fully on firm, level ground before you raise the stand.
3. Weights and wind
3.1 Always weigh the stand down with sandbags. They keep the stand stable when the wind blows or a ball hits it, and they protect the people around it.
3.2 Use at least this much weight in total:
(a) 15 pounds (about 7 kilograms) in calm weather;
(b) 20 to 25 pounds (about 9 to 11 kilograms) in wind;
(c) 30 pounds (about 14 kilograms) in severe wind; and
(d) 30 pounds (about 14 kilograms) whenever the stand is higher than 15 feet (about 4.6 meters).
3.3 Put sandbags on at least two legs of the stand, and preferably on all three. More weight is always safer.
3.4 If the wind is too strong to keep the stand steady with this much weight, lower the stand and take it down.
4. Placing and aiming the camera
4.1 Place the stand about 10 to 15 feet (about 3 to 4.6 meters) back from the sideline, near the halfway line, and, where you can, with the sun behind the camera.
4.2 In the app, tap Set up camera, then tilt the camera until its side lights turn green, and tighten the mount to lock that angle.
4.3 If the camera is knocked during a game, end that game in the app, set the camera up again, and start a new game.
5. Weather
5.1 A Reeplayer Camera shipped in or after June 2024 is built for heat, cold, and rain, heavy rain included. You do not need to take it down because of rain.
5.2 Do not put the camera in water or any other liquid, do not pressure wash it, and do not open its housing.
5.3 A Reeplayer Camera shipped before June 2024 is not water resistant. Keep it out of the rain.
6. Battery and charging
6.1 The camera runs for about 4 hours on a full charge. Plugged into a portable battery, it keeps running as long as the battery lasts, which can be all day.
6.2 Charge the camera from any standard USB-C charger, cable, or power bank, such as the USB-C charging cable that came with it. You can charge it from a portable battery while it records, or between games while it is off.
6.3 The camera has two USB-C ports on the back, each marked with an icon. Plug power only into the charging port. The other port is for data, such as a microphone.
6.4 The lights on the back of the camera show the battery level. The app shows it too.
7. Care and transport
7.1 Carry and store the camera in its case, if you have one, or in padded protection.
7.2 Do not open, repair, or modify the camera yourself. If something is wrong, contact support@reeplayer.com. Opening or repairing the camera yourself, or using another repair shop or other parts, does not end the Reeplayer Camera One-Year Limited Warranty; it excludes only damage that the outside repair or parts caused (Warranty Sections 2.1(e) and 2.4). If the camera is leased to you, your lease terms govern its repair, and the Warranty covers it only where a law requires (Warranty Section 6.1); your lease does not allow anyone but Reeplayer to open or repair it (Terms Sections 16.2 and 17.6(b)); contact support@reeplayer.com instead.
